For the Love of Vintage Paris

During my short visit to Paris last month, I made sure to squeeze in a trip to at least one vintage shop. I have read from different blogs about their magnificent Paris Flea Market finds but sadly these flea markets are only open on the weekends.

I went to Réciproque, as it was recommended by Olivia Palermo on her blog, to check on their vintage Chanel pieces. The shop is located at Rue de la Pompe and from where I'm staying (Boulevard Hausmann), it only took 7 stops via the Metro. Réciproque is one of the biggest consignment shops or dépôts-vente in Paris. When I stepped into the shop, it felt like coming into a fashion heaven with arrays of Chanel, Dior, Givenchy, Hermés, Louis Vuitton, Christian Louboutin and many more.

Like a kid in a candy store, I was confused and couldn't decide which row to start first. Luckily, one of the owners of Réciproque was there and very helpful. Although my objective of this vintage tour is to find vintage Chanel earrings, I ended up shopping Gianvito Rossi wedge sandals and a new Hermés silk scarf.

With one of the owners of Reciproque.

My lovely Reciproque finds!

5 Things I love about Paris

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think most girls would love to go to Paris. Well, most of my girl friends are dying to visit Paris. When I was little, I was also dreaming of seeing the romantic city one day. One of the reasons why I became a flight attendant is to travel especially to Paris and be able to see the Eiffel Tower. But it was until 2010 when I first visited Paris with my husband. The feeling was very nice, I was bursting with excitement and happiness that I am finally setting foot in the city of lights and the fashion capital of the world.

And here are the 5 things I love about Paris.

1) Eiffel Tower

When you visit Paris, should not only see the Eiffel tower but also go up the tower and see the lovely view of the city. There are also souvenir shops and restaurants on top of the tower.

2) French Cuisine

French are very famous for their delicious food so when in Paris, must try a real French restaurant or even just a French Bakery. The Baguette sandwiches are mouthwatering. I also love their pastries. Really yummy!

3) French Macarons

When I first tasted macarons, it was a heavenly feeling! Every bite is delight!

4) French Language

I dunno why but every time I hear somebody speak French, I find it really sexy! There's something about their language that makes them sound so romantic!

5) Chanel

Of course, if you love shopping, Paris is one of the places to go!
Of all the luxury brands, Chanel is my favorite. I just love Chanel but they're so expensive. Chanel is classic so I am very happy having a Chanel vintage bag. Still saving for the Chanel Quilted Lambskin Bag! ;)
But even the other vintage Chanel designs, I love!

Roman Theater in France

During our month holiday in Europe, we took a road trip from (Alicante) Spain to (Skåne) Sweden. It was my husband's idea since he wanted to show me the European highway. Although it took us four days to reach Sweden but we didn't drive all the way. We had stopovers in Barcelona, Spain; Orange, France; Kassel, Germany; and Ødense, Denmark. We also spent the night in these cities staying at Ibis Hotels.

Orange, France is part of Provence- Alpes- Côte d'Azur region. It's a beautiful small city and one of its highlights is the Roman Theater. Built in the 1st century and is one of the best preserved of all the Roman theaters in the Roman colony of Arausio. In 1981 UNESCO declared the theater as a World Heritage Site.

I just love the theater, it feels like I'm actually back in the old times. It's so incredible how they can build and preserve a mega structure like this.
