It's More Fun in The Philippines

Almost every foreigner I meet, who hasn't been to the Philippines, thinks that Philippines is a dangerous country. Before I met my husband (Swedish), he even doubted of accepting the contract of flying in the Philippines. He read on the Swedish government's website that it's not so safe. Well I don't know what changed his mind but the sweetest part is, he's now married to me- a Filipina!!!
He also likes that the Filipinos are so friendly and he just loves the nature.

I really appreciate the American family I met in Kuala Lumpur, they are very excited for their Philippine vacation next year. It's just great to hear that their friends proffered them to go to Cebu because it's so beautiful.
Well I strongly discourage you to go to Southern part of Mindanao, execrable activities exists but the government is doing something about it.

In Europe, I'm surprised how my husband is so punctilious to me when it comes to taking care of my belongings. He said it's no longer safe and this is just one disadvantage of the place. I think every country has its ups and downs, advantages and disadvantages. Of course, you have to be vigilant when you travel and you must also know the limits.

I really hope that people will change their negative perception about Philippines because the truth is,
It's More Fun in The PHILIPPINES....;)

Historical Malacca

The tale of Malacca's history and glory is illustrious. As Malaysia's oldest city, it was once a powerful trading port connecting East and West bartering goods like spices, silk, etc. Even the Portuguese, Dutch and British battled on its turf for its gold and prestige.

Malacca is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site attracting thousands of tourists everyday. As a colony of three great countries, it has a wide and diverse culture. Also greatly influenced by the Middle Eastern, Chinese and the Baba Nyonya leaving them a colorful community. A wondrous place with a mixture of European and Asian architecture and cuisine.

When I saw Malacca, I was inspired by how the people preserved the left-behinds of it's previous rulers.
Taking a walk around the small town is awe-inspiring.

Fish and Chips Down Under

If you ask me which country I would like to come back, it's definitely Australia. My husband and I really loves Australia, the country has just so much to offer. And they have a lot of cute animals, don't forget the dangerous ones too...;)
One thing I miss Down Under is their fish and chips. I dunno why but there's something about Australian fries, they're so nice!!! :) So this lunch, I decided to make some Fish and Chips a la Australian style. Well to be honest, it doesn't really taste the same but my husband says it's NICE...:)
hope you enjoy! :)

Fish and Chips

Ingredients:
2 medium size Fish fillets
2 Tbsp Salt
1 Tbsp Pepper
1 egg
1 cup All-Purpose Flour
1 cup Water
Oil
Crinkle Fries

Method:
1) Wash and remove skin of fish. Mix salt and pepper together with the fish fillets.
     Set aside for 15 minutes.

2) Mix together water, flour and egg, dash some salt and pepper. Make a batter.
Put the fish in the batter one at a time

3) A pan with oil, turn heat to medium-high until the oil begins to bubble.
Place the battered fish carefully in the hot oil. Fry until the fish is golden brown.

4) Fry the crinkle fries.

5) Serve with Tartar sauce or Mayonnaise.

Kuala Lumpur

I know I have not been able to update for a long time!!! I'm sorry my dear friends, I was in Kuala Lumpur for a week. The good thing is, will share to you where to stay, where to go, where to eat and where to shop in the cozy little city. :)

It was my husband's vacation leave again and this time, we wanted to see Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Though we had a fun holiday in Kota Kinabalu (Sabah, Malaysia) last year, we wanted to visit the capital this time.

Kuala Lumpur is not that typical hustle and bustle city, we were even surprised how a concrete jungle can be so peaceful (like on the streets, market, almost everywhere) compared to other cities in South East Asia.

Where to Stay:
Bukit Bintang Area (City Centre)

We stayed at Furama Hotel, a Four-star hotel. When we were in Pattaya, Thailand last year  we stayed at Furama. The hotel was really nice so when we found out there was a chain in KL, we directly booked it.

Furama Hotel is very close to shopping malls and restaurants since it is located in Bukit Bintang Area. This photo was taken in our room,  TIMES SQUARE SHOPPING MALL with indoor amusement park.

The very famous revolving tower or KL Tower.
