Angkor Wat, built in the early 12th century by King Suryavarman II, it was dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu. It became the king's state temple and the capital city. Angkor Wat is the largest Hindu temple complex in the world.
Mainly made of sandstone blocks, it is the prime example of the classical style Khmer Architecture. The Khmer architects had become skilled in using sandstone, molding and building it into a great temple.
The temple is a very important symbol to the Cambodians that it even appears to their national flag, and it is also the country's main attraction for visitors. Also a UNESCO Worl Heritage Site, it attracts thousands of tourists every day.
I have visited the temple and been to Siem Reap twice and I just can't wait to see it again this November. :)

The Kingdom of Cambodia
Cambodia is a country located in the southern portion of the Indochina Peninsula in Southeast Asia. I have only been to Cambodia twice but it always fascinates me. The country is just so rich in history and culture.
The capital is Phnom Penh and is also the largest city in Cambodia. Even though Phnom Penh doesn't have as much old temples as Siem Reap, there are a lot of things to do and see in Phnom Penh.
Siem Reap is the second biggest city. It is also the center of Khmer empire where there are about hundreds or even thousands of temples that are dated back to the 12th century.
I came back to Cambodia with my Parents and Cousins... My parents wanted to see Angkor Wat!
We had a great time.. :)
